I recently came across a little tidbit worth blogging about: The Google +1 Button embedded in someone’s web page.

If you’ve been using Google recently I’m sure you’ve seen these +1 buttons next to your search results. Or maybe you haven’t – they only appear if you happen to be logged into Google when you do a search. By logged into Google I mean into any Google account – Gmail, Google Docs, or whatever. They’re all sort of merged into what’s now being called Google+.

When I first noticed them I was mildly intrigued, but felt it was at the wrong place. After all, how can you recommend a link to a page you haven’t visited yet? And there’s nothing to say you’re going to come back to the search page to make your recommendation.

But now I see there’s a way to put the +1 Button right on the page. To me that makes much more sense. Of course it means the page owner needs to change their page to make the button available.
